Read when you're finally ready to change.
I think one of the hardest parts about life is getting over the idea that you can do what you want. You can obtain your hearts desires. You wish you could quit your job but you don’t. You sure talk about it though. You’re sick of the draining relationship you’re in but you’re more afraid to be alone. So you settle. And you’re bitter. But wait, all you say you want in life is to finally BE. HAPPY. right? Right. But there is an unexplainable force compelling you to stay stuck in your shitty stuckness. No. No there isn’t. You know what you want, it’s in your heart and it’s always been there. It’s there when you have a heart to heart with a friend about what could be. It’s in your day dreams. It’s the “what I’d do if...”. But guess what, often times “if” doesn’t come. So you look at your life and you don’t know how you got to where you are. We’ve all been there at one point or another. Living unconsciously, making decisions while out of alignment.
What if I were to tell you the unexplainable force isn’t real and the excuse you’ve rambled off 100 times doesn’t mean shit? What if everything you’re “supposed” to do because of the constructs in our society DID NOT MATTER. Because whether you feel like it’s what you’re supposed to do, the responsible choice, whatever, you’re STILL DOING IT. And guess who suffers? YOU. And every miserable, agreeable asshole you sell your story to.
I’m not trying to act like this is easy as hell, I struggle with it often given my lifestyle. But guess what? I’m happy. I’m joyous. I love a life that speaks to ME. I spend hours doing yoga. I meditate. I read. I write for people I love. I walk my dog. I get outside.
I took a few looks at stress in my adult life and decided that shit isn’t for me. Because you don’t have to be intense, angry, or ruthless to be successful in this world. It just depends what success means to you.
Anyways. Highly recommend visiting Black Canyon - definitely a park of extremes as well as solitude 🧘🏻♀️🏔 #gobealive
